About Us

Mended with Gold operates on the unceded and occupied territory of the səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. We thank them for having cared for these lands and waters, and for the privilege of working on this land as uninvited settlers. We recognize that more work needs to be done towards supporting Indigenous communities.

We love collecting beautiful handmade ceramics made by local artisans. But sometimes, life happens and your toddler drops the first bowl your partner made at the pottery class you took together, or your treasured French butter keeper falls off the cupboard. The Japanese art of Kintsugi is method of repair that highlights imperfections, which also is a beautiful philosophy to live by. Isn’t it in the moments that we feel most broken that our best qualities shine through?

We started Mended with Gold to bring this art to your homes, hoping that seeing these gold-repaired ceramics will remind you to persevere and celebrate the imperfections that make our stories unique. Snap a photo of your repaired pieces and please tag us on Instagram! We’d love to see what you’ve created and hear the story behind your treasured pieces.
